Gas prices drop and heading down more, experts say

Orlando Sentinel -- The price of gasoline took its biggest drop since 2008 in the past two weeks due partly to lower crude oil prices and lower demand for gas after Superstorm Sandy, according to industry surveys released this week.

And prices should keep slipping, possibly ending the year cheaper in Florida than a year ago, experts say.

In Broward County, the price of regular gas averaged $3.55 per gallon Monday, down eight cents from a week ago and 23 cents from a month ago.

In Palm Beach County, the price averaged $3.60 per gallon Monday, down six cents from a week ago and 21 cents from a year ago.

Still, that's more expensive than this time last year, when prices averaged $3.46 per gallon in Broward and $3.50 in Palm Beach counties, according to travel club AAA.

Right now cheapest is around 3.85/gal around here. Higher ones still at 3.99 or even more.
