Competing for Profits in Natural Gas

Resource Investor -- For one natural gas pipeline provider, November is off to a very good start. We're just five days into the month, and already nearly $ 1.5 billion is set to change hands.

This is a chance for me to mirror the words of one of the icons of the business world. Jack Welch knows a thing or two about what it takes to revolutionize an industry. When he puts his finger on a transformative trend, its best we see where he's pointing.

Today, he's touting the revolution that is America's natural gas industry.

"We have a chance in this country to make this the American century," the former GE boss said Monday morning. "This gas thing is huge. The gas that we have found is in the first inning -- it's like the Internet in 1990. This is the first inning of the great American century."

But old man Welc

The enthusiasm that Jack Welch has for the developments in the natural gas industry over the last five years kind of make one want to put a few dollars into a pipeline oriented mutual fund or ETF does it not.

I am more than a little tired of the name calling. The President won a major victory last night, he doesn't deserve the school-boy names. Grow up, your side lost...get over it!

This is our only choice for power till Controlled Nuclear Fusion comes online. But don't hold your breath on that one. Fusion Power won't come online till 2040 to 2050. Maybe 2030 if the whole world throws at least $10 trillion at making it happen sooner.

For now Natural Gas is the only bridge till then. Hopefully Obama will learn that in the next 4 years instead of pouring billions into solar and wind.

THE PARTY IS OVER - NOVEMBER 7, 2012

Half of the nation is gleefully happy....half is sad

The choice has been made....good or bad

Happy people drinking pink champagne and KoolAid....

While others are simply crying in their beers....

Half yell triumphantly "FOUR MORE YEARS!"

Half bend over to moan "Four more years?"

Only time will tell if this is swell....

Or just a repugnant smell....

DeHavilland, you still need refiners for natural gas to separate all the different gasses out of it.

Too bad you didn't live in Ohio, @Black Wagon. You might have changed the election.

Now onto reality. I guess if we want cheap natural gas, we need to move to Canada and Mexico, since all our shale gas will be heading there. I would, however, like to know how the gas drillers intend to make peace with the drug traffickers in Mexico. Talk about paying for right of way!
