2012 marks highest gasoline prices of all time

Desere News -- Gas prices have soared this year, making 2012 the most expensive year ever for gas nationally, according to a press release by Gasbuddy.

The national average was $3.63 per gallon. Some of the spikes were due to California's supply problem and also the impact of Hurricane Sandy flooding which caused power outages to refineries in the Northeast, said Gregg Laskoski, GasBuddy analyst, in the press release.

"It reminds us exactly how vulnerable our nation's fuel infrastructure is and why the U.S. should be looking to increase refining capacity where it is needed most," he said in the press release.

Go to the price charts and check the 11 yr USA average. Would be nice to go to 12 so we could see where Bush started. But with 11 you can see at 12/1/01 the ave. was $1.03. Steady climb there till his peak in mid '08 when it hit $4.11 national average, and if the charts accurate, it has not hit that high during Obama's tenure. We are being played, and it has nothing to do with the POTUS. The only occurrence that might be blamed on the prez would be the drop from above $4 in mid 2008, down to about $1.65 in Jan/Feb in 2009. That drop was due to fact that the money people realized that we couldn't continue on the Bush path. Not just gas crashed, the whole economy came tumbling down, due to taking us into 2 unfunded wars while (for the first time ever) dropping taxes primarily to the rich. The economy is actually starting to move upward, and had we elected Mitt we would have gone back to the Bush habits and truly destroyed the country.
