I notice California is not on the list. It has dropped quite a bit the last month or so. Here in Chico many stations are down to $3.49 which is a nice change for now...

Some states see big drop in price vs. last Thanksgiving, some see spike and fuel prices have been too high for too long. Good to see the fuel price drop at the pumps. But, all the haters negative comments about the west coast state governments when the refineries were down and the prices were up at the pump. Well, 'Up Urs' and back at you! I hope your happy with your high fuel prices, it must be 'your' state goverment direction and 'your' backward policies! What about: Big Oil and the huge price fixing at the fuel pump. Big Oil still producing fuel when the refinery is performing maintenance or an upgrade – in 'off line' mode. Big Oil and Big Gas continues to sell fuel and natural gas on the world market for higher prices, there will be NO price reduction for the cost of fuel or natural gas IN the US. The price at the pump needs to go down to $2/gallon, *$3, *$3.50/gallon or *$4.00 is Not the new low! Why did the turkey cross the road? Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, vehicle manufactures Produce and the population ‘Drives’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! XII/XXII/MMXII!

CA has seen the biggest price drop in history within a month, but only after peaking at near-record highs due to the "refinery shutdowns" that only got cleared up after the AG's office and the Governor's office started snooping around at the near-monopoly that refiners have in the state. The "snooping" prompted Tesoro to drop their big for ARCO's Carson refinery (one of the largest in Southern California), which would've given Tesoro a near-monopoly in the entire state. Tesoro, of course, is run by Texans.

What has happened is that the oil companies with the help of the media have "conditioned" the public to higher prices. All that has been done is to set a new "base" for future increases. When prices hit $4 a gallon and then back off to $3.50 everyone feels relief and the media touts the drop. What people forget is that prices started at $2.50.
